Full-Time Flight Coordinator

Flight Paramedic

We are currently hiring for this position

Job Description:

The San Antonio Flight Paramedic will provide safe critical-care and air-medical transport to ill and injured patients in the San Antonio AirLIFE service area.

Flight Paramedics are scheduled for 12 & 24 hour shifts, alternating day and nights and required to work at all area bases to include New Braunfels, Kerrville, Pleasanton, Uvalde and San Antonio and future locations within the AirLIFE service area.

Patient transports originate from scene response (50%) and inter-facility transfer (50%).

Applicants must be current in the following:

  • CPR
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • PHTLS or ATLS or TNATC
  • FP-C (within one year of hire)

The San Antonio Flight Paramedic position requires Texas certification or licensure as an EMT-Paramedic or demonstrate evidence of reciprocity procedure to legally work as an EMT-Paramedic in the state of Texas. Minimum of five years experience with a busy EMS service operating at MICU or Critical Care Transport level. Previous Critical-Care experience is desired. Previous teaching experience in card certification courses is helpful. Capable of working as a member of a team with little or no supervision. Applicants should be in good physical condition and total weight must not exceed 220 lbs. with flight equipment (i.e. flight-suit, helmet, etc.). Must be capable of working in confined spaces and be able to lift/move patients and equipment safely.

AirLIFE is a drug/tobacco free workplace. Pre-employment testing will include laboratory testing for nicotine and nicotine metabolite byproducts. Presence of nicotine or its byproducts will result in non-eligibility for employment. If offer of employment is made, it is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment screening including a physical assessment and drug testing.

Flight Nurse

Job Description

Flight Nurses are scheduled for 12 & 24 hour shifts, alternating day and nights and required to work at all area bases to include New Braunfels, Kerrville, Pleasanton, Uvalde and San Antonio and future locations within the AirLIFE service area.

  • TNCC or ATLS or TNATC
  • EMS Certification (within one year of hire)
  • CFRN (within one year of hire)

The San Antonio AirLIFE Flight Nurse is required to hold Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse, or demonstrate evidence of reciprocity procedure as a Registered Nurse able to legally practice in Texas. In addition, the San Antonio Flight Nurse position requires a minimum of five years of experience with an ED (trauma center preferred) or ICU background. Prehospital experience helpful. Previous teaching experience in card certification courses is helpful. Capable of working as a member of a team with little or no supervision. Applicants should be in good physical condition and total weight must not exceed 220 lbs. with flight equipment (i.e. flight-suit, helmet, etc.). Must be capable of working in confined spaces and be able to lift/move patients and equipment safely.

Flight Coordinator

Job Description

Flight Coordinators work a 12 hour shift range from 6 a.m. - 6 p.m., 6 p.m. - 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or GED.     
  • Current certification of Emergency Medical Technician - Basic or higher.
  • Two years of emergency dispatch or equivalent experience or knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of word processing and/or other basic computer software.
  • Capable of working as a member of a team.
  • Able to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks with little or no supervision.
  • AirLIFE is a tobacco free workplace. Pre-employment testing will include laboratory testing for nicotine and nicotine metabolite byproducts. Presence of nicotine or its byproducts will result in non-eligibility for employment.
  • Provide references/recommendations.
